How to Perform a Hip Toss
Instructions

-
1
Stand with your feet square and slightly crouching, facing your opponent.
-
2
Build momentum with your opponent. Often when you see this move in wrestling, the opponent is being tossed against the ropes so that he bounces back with momentum. This is imperative to the move (and actually makes it less dangerous.) Grab your opponent around the shoulders and toss him against the ropes.
-
3
Toss your opponent against the other side of the ropes. After he bounces off one side, use that momentum to push him toward the other set of ropes. Allow him to bounce back toward you.
-
4
Brace your arm bending it slightly at the elbow and clench your fist. You are forming a "hook" of sorts, and it should look like your arm does when you are escorting someone.
-
5
Lock arms with the other person as they come off the ropes. Simultaneously, bend at the waist giving you a low center of gravity. This will happen in a split second.
-
6
Toss your opponent, using your hip and low center of gravity as leverage against their hip. At the same time, lift your arm and body and fling him over your shoulder. Your opponent will flip over your back.
