How to Aim a Bow

Archery is one of the oldest forms of military and survival techniques. It combines strength, stamina and accuracy along with years of training. Before you can aim your bow, you must learn which of your eyes is dominant and use this as your arrow side. Without having the properly dominant side aiming the arrow, your arrow will be off target every time.

Instructions

    • 1

Take your stance by planting your feet perpendicular to your target. Pull the bowstring back to your cheek using your three center fingers.

    • 2

Align the sight pin with the center of the target. The sight pin will move around slightly as your muscles strain to hold the position. It is all right to circle the center with the sight pin instead of trying to hold it completely steady.

    • 3

Release the string off the tip of your fingers and hold your stance until the arrow hits the target.
