Additionally, the machine can be adjusted to pitch balls into the dirt to stimulate catcher's drills or to toss pop fly balls to outfielders. The machine has been authorized for use in many of America's youth leagues.

Read the instructions that came with the Louisville Slugger Pitching Machine before operating. Make sure that the machine is assembled properly.

Set the power spring into the desired hole on the power lever to choose the speed setting of the pitching machine.

Pull back the throwing arm. Place the appropriate ball on the throwing arm.

Hold the release lever with one hand. Push your foot down on the power lever until it contacts the base of the machine.

Pull the release lever back to pitch the ball. Keep your foot down on the power lever until the throwing arm has completed its motion.
