1
Measure around the fullest part of your chest (or bust for women) from around the shoulder blades and below the armpits using measuring tape. Lay the tape flat and even, but not tight, against your body.
-
2
Use the tape measure to determine your top length. Have another person measure you as you stand up perfectly straight. Have them measure you from the top of your shoulders all the way down to the midpoint of your hips.

Take those measurements and compare them to the sizing chart from where you are purchasing your football jersey. In general, men's football jersey dimensions run like this: small (chest, 34 to 36 inches; top length, 32 1/2 inches); medium (chest, 38 to 40 inches; top length, 33 inches); large (chest, 42 to 44 inches; top length, 33 1/2 inches); extra large (chest, 46 to 48 inches; top length, 35 1/2 inches); 2XL (chest, 50 to 52 inches; top length, 35 1/2 inches); 3XL (chest, 54 to 56 inches; top length, 35 1/2 inches); 4XL (chest, 58 to 60 inches; top length, 36 inches); and 5XL (chest, 62 to 64 inches; top length, 36 inches),

Compare the measurements for youth football jerseys. Youth sizes are: small (chest, 28 to 29 inches; top length, 26 inches); medium (chest, 30 to 31 inches; top length, 26 inches); large (chest, 32 to 33 inches; top length, 26 1/2 inches); and extra large (chest, 34 to 35 inches; top length, 27 1/2 inches). Compare the numbers for a woman and choose the corresponding jersey.

Select the next smaller size football jersey for a more snug fit or the next larger size jersey for a looser fit.
