DIY: How to Make a Putt Putt Course

Putt putt golf, also known as miniature golf, is a putting-only version of golf, and commonly played on courses which feature obstacles ranging from simple bridges to animatronic elements. Making your own putt putt course at home lets you enjoy the thrill of putt putt without driving to a course or paying for your rounds. By building a course out of household items you can make a course for little cost, and with portable boundaries and obstacles, you can even play multiple holes in a small area.

Instructions

    • 1

Design your course on a surface that is easy to putt on. While a turf putting green is ideal, a short carpet in your home also works.

    • 2

Place wood planks, bricks or cinder blocks down to create the wall for your hole.

    • 3

Place a putting cup at the end of the hole.

    • 4

Place obstacles in the path of the putters to make a hole more difficult. Nearly any item can be used to create an obstacle. A cheap way to create obstacles for an outdoor putt putt course is to use natural items like large rocks.

    • 5

Angle a wood plank atop a brick to create a jump between two different playing areas on a hole.

    • 6

Run a tube from one playing area to another to connect two playing areas. A player must putt their ball through the first area, into the tube to the second area and then into the hole.
