1
Stand on the weight scale with your ski gear and boots on to get an accurate weight reading for the DIN and binding.
-
2
Cross reference your weight and level of ski ability with the DIN chart.
-
3
Place the skis with the bindings onto a work bench and locate the DIN screw and gauge -- typically on the rear of the bindings. Turn the DIN screw to the right to raise the DIN or to the left to lower it. Set the DIN until the gauge reads the DIN number recommended by the chart.
-
4
Set the ski boots on the skis with bindings and push the ski into the binding until it locks down on the boot. Push the boot until it forces the binding to fail, thus testing the setting.
-
5
Head to the slopes. Put both skis on the snow, and push the bindings open. Step into the bindings and listen for the bindings to click into the locked position, securing the boots to the skis. Take a test ride with the adjusted bindings on an easy slope before moving on to harder and steeper terrain.
