Off Road Trails in New Hampshire

New Hampshire features mountains, scenic valleys and plains, and pristine lakes and streams, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Many people choose to see the state's sights by driving the off-road trails New Hampshire has to offer. This can be done with all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and mountain bikes in the summer months and snowmobiles in the winter.
  1. Ammonoosuc Recreation Trail

    • Ammonoosuc Recreation Trail is a 19-mile-long off-road trail open year-round. The trail travels through several small towns that allow ATVs to refuel. To use the trail, riders must have a New Hampshire operating license. The trail is free to use. Parking and camping are also free of charge.     Jericho Mountain State Park

    • Jericho Mountain State Park, in Berlin, New Hampshire, offers ATV, snowmobile and bike trails. It offers adventurists scenic outlooks and swimming, picnicking and fishing activities in addition to off-road fun. The park is open seasonally from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The New Hampshire Bureau of Trails plans to continue adding more off-road trails to the park over time.

    Pisgah State Park

    • Pisgah State Park features over 13,300 acres, or 21 square miles, of forested terrain for ATV, mountain biking and snowmobiling. This un-staffed park is free to use and open year-round (except for muddy conditions). The park's trails venture near wetland, ponds and highland ridges. Other popular park activities include fishing and hiking.
