Burnett County Trails

There are more than 40 miles of trails in Burnett County, Webster, Wisconsin. The northern Burnett trails follow the path of state highways 18, 151 and 925, according to the county government. From December 1 to March 31, snowmobile and winter-use ATV riders are permitted to ride on state-maintained Winter Use Trails on Burnett County Forest Lands. The trails officially open once the ground has frozen, according to the county, as of 2010.
The winter use trails are sporadically connected by trails along town roads, such as State 18 and 19 in northeastern Burnett County. In southern Burnett, the large web of Webster-area trails follow along interstates 41, 45 and 8, creating two large loops near the community of Danbury, near the Minnesota state line.
Saint Croix State Park

Saint Croix State Park is located 37 miles from Webster on State Highway 48, westward over the state line into Minnesota. The state park features 25 miles of trails, designated specifically for snowmobiling. They are "well-marked and groomed for winter use," according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. In all, there are 45 miles of maintained trails for all-terrain and off-highway motorcycles, and four parking lots for motorized vehicles riders.
Snowmobiles and other motorized vehicles are only allowed on designated trails and routes, and must obey marked speed limits, according to the state. The 33,895-acre Saint Croix State Park hugs the Saint Croix River for 21 miles, and envelops seven miles of the Kettle River.
Wild Rivers State Trail

The Wild Rivers State Trail provides snowmobile riders with 104 miles of trails in Washburn County Forest. The system directly connects to Webster's Burnett County trail system, helping to create a sprawling regional network of snowmobile trails.
One of three main Washburn trails, the Rocky Brook ATV Trail, also called the Stony Brook Trail, is used year round. It stretches east to west from south of Minong to the Sawyer County line. The Wild Rivers Trail is also a year-round snowmobile and ATV trail that vertically divides Washburn County. Trail 8 and 39A are open only to snowmobiles. The trails run west of the Wild Rivers Trail to the Burnett City Trail System, and north to the Douglas City Trail System. The Washburn County trails were converted into the multi-use trail, to accommodate fair-weather ATV riders, by the local Minong Snowmobile and ATV Club.
