Trane Orbitrek Directions

Purchasing a gym membership is a good way to stay in shape, but it also requires a monthly fee and a time commitment. The Orbitrek is a model of exercise equipment that you can use in your home to stay healthy without going to the gym and sharing machines with others. The Orbitrek features two foot pedals that you propel in a circular motion, as well as adjustable handlebars that you can use to work out your arms and upper body.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the handlebars in the position that you wish to use them in while working out. Place the handlebars directly into the tubing on the main frame to use them in a fixed position, or place them in the outer coupler bars to make them move with the pedals to exercise your arms. Move the handlebars to an appropriate height and insert the knob bolt into the appropriate hole.

Stand on the pedals of the machine and begin slowly pedaling forward to get an idea of how much tension is in the machine. Dismount the machine; turn the "Tension" knob located above the pedals to increase or decrease the resistance of the machine.

    • 3

Stand back on the pedals of the machine and grasp the handlebars with both hands. Begin pedaling forward to start working out. Pedal forward to work one set of muscles, or pedal backward to work out a different set. Alternate between forward and backward as you see fit.

Press the center button on the electronic monitor to switch between the different modes. "Time" shows you how long you have been working out; "Speed" indicates how fast you are moving; "Distance" shows you the distance you have traveled, and "Calorie" shows you the number of calories you have burned. Enter "Scan" mode to rotate through the other modes so you don't have to continuously press the button.
